Building Maintenance should always be at the forefront of the architectural and construction process, particularly so for complex building structures. When building access becomes an after thought in the design process, this can lead to unnecessary additional cost and make installation more difficult. By factoring in how the building’s facade will be maintained during the design process, this will ensure the most ideal solution can be produced.

As industry leaders of full service Building Maintenance Units, CoxGomyl are regularly consulted by engineers and architects at the design phase to produce a solution that can be incorporated from the beginning. With BMU machines being custom made to solve a range of architectural challenges.

After more than 50 years in the industry, CoxGomyl have amassed a comprehensive library of designs and solutions that our designers draw from when addressing a new challenge. Depending on the specific needs of each project, the three levels of BMU solutions cater to a variety of building complexities.

There are three levels of complexity that determine which solution is integrated into each project.

Economical Configurations (1000 Series)

Designed for low-complexity buildings, the CoxGomyl 1000 Series utilises a range of standard equipment for a simple and economical solution. There are two main groups that the range is divided into:

  1. Building Maintenance System based on the roof of a building

This group involves utilising a roof trolley with a set jib reach that allows the cradle to be lowered over the side of a building. A range of sub-groups provide additional features, depending on the needs of the specific project.

  1. Building Maintenance System on various types of roof rigs and travelling gantries

These options utilise a variety of track installation’s to provide a flexible solution when a roof-mounted jib solution won’t suffice. It also includes options for discrete davits that can be dismantled and moved to a different set of roof-mounted bases to access different areas of the building in conjunction with a cradle.

Moderate Complexity (5000 Series)

The CoxGomyl 5000 Series of machines are designed for use on moderately complex buildings. The range is divided into three main groups:

  1. E Range

The E-Type focuses on economical options for low height buildings with less complexity. The machines are made using standardised components and have a reach of up to 8 metres.

  1. F Range

The F-Type is a flexible option that covers most applications. It is often referred to as a ‘crane type’ BMY and is used when the reach exceeds the capabilities of the E-Type.

  1. G Range

The G-Type was designed for larger buildings, or where a larger reach is required. It shares many features of the F-Type, but has a reach of 25 to 50 metres and a large range of cradles and climbing options for pitched surfaces.

High Complexity (7000 Series)

The CoxGomyl 7000 Series leverages our wealth of knowledge and experience to create advanced, specialised solutions for the most complex structures. Designed specifically for use on buildings with high to very high complexity facades, the 7000 Series boasts fully customisable solutions to some of the architecture world’s most intricate challenges.
