Access to the glazed facade of the Etisalat Communications Building at Ajman is achieved with a heavy duty CoxGomyl Long Reach Machine with a 3 stage telescopic and luffing jib.

The machine has a number of unique features including infra red jib collision sensor beams, variable speed drive system for ramped acceleration of traverse, hoisting and slewing motions and a detailed fault detection system. The latter uses a 16 digit LCD screen to highlight to users the exact nature of any fundamental system fault.

Also unique to the system is the ability of operators to control jib rotation, luffing and    extension function from the cradle whilst down the side of the building. This allows the operators to maintain the cradle in a convenient position relative to the sloping facade as the cradle descends.

Jib collision sensors ensure that the jib will not strike building elements during such motion.

Provision of a high capacity hoist allows operators to use the system for glass panel replacement activities, as well as for transferring a second cradle from storage at roof level to the lower podium for use with a davit system above the granite core wall.
