Our History
CoxGomyl is the world's leading provider of Building Maintenance Units. The group, formed by the merger of E.W. Cox, GomyL s.a., and OCS Cradle Runways, is based in Melbourne with manufacturing facilities in Australia, Spain, United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates.
Wolseley Private Equity acquired the foundation business, E.W .Cox, in early 2007. Since then, Wolseley has strengthened the competitive position of the business by making two further complimentary acquisitions of GomyL s.a. (based in Spain) and Cradle Runways (based in the United Kingdom).
The group now employs nearly 500 people with sales offices and representation throughout the world.
E.W. Cox History
Founded by Eric William Cox in October 1955, E.W. Cox were the pioneers of external building access systems in Australia. E.W. Cox is an engineering company specializing in the design, manufacture and installation of Building Maintenance Equipment (BME) and Access Equipment. The E.W. Cox design and manufacturing base is located in Victoria, Australia. E.W. Cox specializes in providing solutions to the world's tallest and most complex buildings including Taipei 101, Shanghai World Finance Centre and the 818 metre tall Burj Dubai.
GomyL, s.a. History
GomyL, s.a. was established in 1989 by a team of specialists in the field of engineering. Their main objective is to design, manufacture, commercialise and distribute cleaning and maintenance equipment for high-rise, multi-storey building facades. GomyL, s.a. has been collaborating with international clients and continues to develop new projects worldwide. The GomyL product range incorporates standard designs to provide the client with cost efficient access solutions.
In 1994, GomyL, s.a. diversified its business to provide material handling machines and equipment for train maintenance and repair services. This division was named Gomyl Railways.
Cradle Runways History
Cradle Runways was founded more than 50 years ago in Brockley, UK when a couple of young engineers recognised the growing demand for the need to access the tall buildings being erected on London's bomb sites. It was registered in March 1956 with OCS taking a part share in the business in 1959.
The company follows the simple rule of "if you can't touch it you can't clean it", it remains at the heart of all design development.
It continues to offer a well designed, easy to operate and easy to maintain product at the lowest possible price without compromising safety and quality.
